I became interested in and joined the coalition about three years ago after speaking with Colleen, the Director of the Injury Prevention Program. When I joined the coalition I expected to learn methods of safety, and I wanted to aid Colleen in any events she put on or joined in.

My goal for both the coalition and myself are enhancing the safety of out clients and doing whatever I can to teach parents safety for their children. My particular area of interest is in the safety of prenatal and children. The best part of being a part of the coalition is discovering and presenting new safety methods to our clients.

Some work experience that prepared me for the coalition includes being the coordinator of the TISA Healthy Start Program, which works with prenatals and newborns up to two-year-olds. I have also taken car seat training and became a Car Seat Technician. I feel the safety for prenatals and all children is very important.
