May Mobilization is one of the program highlights in May 2002.

Board member Diana Siek was a committee member for the post-graduation party. She distributed T-shirts, which had a picture of a crashed car and said "There is a time not to wear your seat belt . . . after the crash."
Assistance was given to the Fraternal Order of Police to prepare for the 157 grant post-survey. A 5.00 donation was received from them. Assistance was given to the Police Department to organize the May Mobilization Blitz by helping sign up officers to work, keeping track of hours, tracking citations, etc. A news release was distributed to media for the spring safety belt survey. The survey results showed that Jamestown usage rate remained at 50%. Safe Community brochures, "Do Buckle Don't Booze" pens and coin purses, "Click It or Ticket" markers, and other safety belt and alcohol-related brochures were distributed by Jack Miller at an informational table at the Buffalo Mall on Emergency Services Day.
Plans continue to have art students assist with safety belt and alcohol slicks for newspaper use. Discussions were held with Bob Martin from the Army Corps of Engineers on the upcoming boat and water safety program for June.end of article
