Focus on 3D month including three Noon Show appearance, a full page and one-half in the Minot Daily News, radio spots and PSA's to all local media.

Additions to Executive Board include Captain Jeff Balentine of the Minot Police Department, Ed Hausauer of the Minot Fire Department and Melanie Lyste, member-at large, as secretary.

Media: Focus on 3D month (including three Noon Show appearance, a full page and one-half in the Minot Daily News, radio spots and PSA's to all local media). The MADD partnership was beneficial during 3D month, as it was a "natural fit" and the media responded enthusiastically. The primary media focus was on impaired driving and mirrored the "Do Buckle, Don't Booze" message with "This season, let's have something to really celebrate . . .Life. Please don't drink and drive." This message was displayed on the Mayor's Broadway sign. NDDOT provided placemats and tree tags, which were distributed to area businesses. Taco Johns, both Schatz's restaurants, Country Kitchen and Ryan's Family Dining used the placemats. Home of Economy and Menards distributed the tree tags. Media also included the "Buckle Up" message focus, which includes enforcement of safety belt use by adults and car seat use by infants and children. A new KXMC television ad with a safety belt message will air in January. This ad was originally produced by the Minot State University Broadcasting Department as a radio ad.[end of article]
