The coordinator gathered data for a meeting with the judges about implementing a Victim Impact Panel in Region VIII.

Internet searches were completed and telephone calls made to state programs, Law Enforcement agencies and the Stark County Courthouse for data. Materials for the project and packets for each member were developed explaining operation of the program through the coalition, expenses, an approximate start date, and frequency of panels. Plans were for adult DUI offenders at a cost of .00 per offender on a quarterly basis. The project would be implemented on a trail basis and re-evaluated after a period of one year. The judges expressed interest in a similar but separate program for youth under 21 years of age. The judges are in favor of the project at this time and will support it once it is underway. The coordinator also met with Myrna Rudland and Deb Burke of the Southwest Victim Witness program for input on speakers for the VIP. Committee members plan to continue research and visit the Williston Victim Impact Panel during their next session.
