February is Child Passenger Safety Month
Posted: Jan 12, 2004
By: Prevention News
The theme for February 2004 Child Passenger Safety Month activities is "Be Wise, Buckle Up" with a stuffed Owl as the mascot.
The program will include a presentation kit for grades K-2 with a storybook, CD, songs, and activity sheets. We will be contacting schools in early January to set up presentations. The goal is to educate youth on the following: where to sit in a vehicle, who should be buckled up, and when you buckle up. Youth under age 13 should always sit in the back, everyone should be buckled up at all times and youth under 4ft. 8in. and less than 80 lbs. should be in a high back booster seat. For more information about the program, call 227-0131 and ask for Becky or Kathy. ![[ end of article ]](http://www.safecommunities.org/images/endarticle.gif)
