Drug Free North Dakota Holds Training Sessions

Drug Free ND is sponsoring these upcoming trainings:
Alcohol Prevention Curriculum:
Project Northland curriculum provides a peer-led program with a comic strip theme and engaging activities. The program draws young people and their families together to discuss alcohol-related issues. The program includes: Slick Tracy-grade 6, Amazing Alternatives-grade 7, and Powerlines-grade 8. Training will be held October 14-16 in Jamestown.
Project Northland Class Action curriculum for grades 9-12 provides a look at real-world social and legal consequences involving teens and alcohol. Training for Class Action will be held on October 17 in Jamestown.
Chemical Dependency In-Service:
This training provides awareness and knowledge concerning the nature and extent of ATOD effects on individuals, families and communities. Training will be held in Mandan on October 22 from 1:00-5:00 p.m.
Communities Mobilizing for Change on Alcohol:
This training is a community organizing program designed to reduce adolescent access to alcohol by changing community policies and practices and will be held in Bismarck, October 29-30.
Building Capacity in Your Communities through Coalitions:
The community coalition movement is one of the cornerstones of our national drug control policy. This training will provide participants with the understanding and tools to assist community prevention coalitions in devising prevention solutions at the local level. Training will be held November 18-20 in Fargo.
Teachers, administrators, counselors, community coalition members, human service providers and prevention professionals are encouraged to attend.
