The Southwest Coalition of Safe Communities, a program of Community Action Partnership conducted a Pennies for Prevention Fundraiser from January 6 - February 7, 2003.
Dickinson Elementary Schools were invited to participate in the event which involved collecting pennies for prevention based activities. Funds were raised to support prevention programs provided by Community Action Partnership, such as Red Ribbon Week; one-third of funds raised by each school were returned to provide school based prevention activities.
Plaques were awarded to the following schools for their students' efforts. Roosevelt Elementary received the first place award with a total of $571.92. Jefferson Elementary School received second place and St. Wenceslaus received third place honors.
