Scott McKirdy, pastor of the United Methodist Church, has a lot of volunteer experience from his ministry with youth and families. Because of this, when he was asked to join the Southwest Coalition of Safe Communities as a church representative, he was fully prepared to take on this new challenge. Pastor McKirdy's undergraduate and seminary experience also helped prepare him for his work with the coalition.
When he joined the Southwest Coalition of Safe Communities, Pastor McKirdy expected to be participating in a community-wide coalition working to make a difference. He was not disappointed. He has been with the coalition for over five years fulfilling this expectation.
Looking to the future, Pastor McKirdy hopes to continue working proactively to make a difference in all of the communities in southwestern North Dakota. His only regret is that sometimes his schedule prevents him from doing more, but he plans to continue to be a part of this dedicated group making the community safer for everyone.
