Paula Richter is a member of the Region 1 Safe Communities Coalition and serves on the Occupant Safety Committee.  Occupant safety is important to Paula, and she is committed to playing a role in developing a safe environment in her community. 

Her commitment to the community goes beyond her efforts as a coalition member.  Paula is employed at State Farm Insurance agency where she reinforces safety messages to her clients.  State Farm is also an advocate of safety, working with the local Safe Communities program to conduct car seat safety checks.  It is through this collaboration that Paula learned about the Region 1 Safe Communities Coalition efforts.  Paula enjoys her partnership with the coalition and strives to make a difference in people's lives.

One of the challenges that Paula recognizes as a coalition member is the time constraints.  Although Paula would like to have the time to accomplish goals with her desired outcomes more quickly, she feels the gratitude received from the community make her efforts worthwhile.
