Janell Roy: Minot Safe Communities Coalition Member
Published  07/3/2007 | Traffic Safety Partners |
Janell loves the team and enjoys working with such talented and interesting members!

Janell Roy has a degree in Social Work.  She has received family development training and an extensive amount of training in the area of youth and alcohol, tobacco and other drugs (ATOD).  She loves working with “people issues.”  She has experience working in areas of early childhood, teens, single parents, poverty and alcohol, tobacco, and other drug issues.

Ms. Roy joined the coalition at a time in her life when she yearned to be a part of a group that could provide her with the latest on new information, trainings, and community activities.  What she received in return from the coalition was much more.  She found coalition events are a great networking opportunity, team-building experience, and opportunities for training.

Ms. Roy strongly believes the coalition as a whole needs to continue looking forward.  She feels it is important to re-visit community data and question community members, including youth, as to what they feel are important issues.

Ms. Roy loves the team and enjoys working with such talented and interesting members!  This positive attitude from fellow members makes it a lot of fun to accomplish coalition goals.  While there is serious work being done, the coalition also manages to have a good time!  She is impressed with the fact that coalition members can work well as a team and not have to deal with the “turf” issues!  She really appreciates the wealth of knowledge each coalition member has and shares with the group.  If a situation arises where there is a question or concern, chances are there is someone at the table with you who can answer it or know where to send you!

Janell Roy is very passionate about working with youth and ATOD.  She lends a helping hand on almost all of the committees.  She is quoted as saying, “There are great people and great works going on!”, and “We are all members of our community and need to get involved to make a difference!” Janell Roy has a degree in Social Work.
