Remember that traffic safety is no accident.
On Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at 10:00AM you are invited to attend an event to help publicize the next wave of Safe &

Sober overtime enforcement and help focus public attention on the new 0.08 AC standard for DWI arrest and efforts at keeping the public safe as Fargo joins Moorhead with 2:00 AM bar closing time.
We will be meeting in the Clay County overflow parking lot on the west side of 9th St. N. in the 700 Block where our driving course will be set up. You can park your vehicles there. Reporters, camera persons, etc. will be allowed to try their skill at driving a golf cart around the course; first with no impediment and next while wearing a pair of ‘Fatal Vision’ goggles [ sometimes called ‘drunk goggles’ ]. You can allow the public to see, hear or read about your experience as you attempt to maneuver a motor vehicle, safely, while your senses are impaired, emulating the effects of being under the influence of alcohol. Expect ‘helmet hair’ as helmet use will be required.
Representatives of law enforcement agencies from both sides of the river will be on hand to answer your questions and provide you with information. The following agencies will be participating in the Minnesota Safe & Sober grant funded paid overtime enforcement wave that will run from August 19 through September 5.
Moorhead Police Department
